Key Safety Features of Road Tanker Trucks

Linden Bulk Transportation operates bulk truck and intermodal transport fleets throughout the USA, Mexico, and Canada. Having a safe and reliable transport fleet is paramount for this well-recognized organization. Linden Bulk Transportation's fleet of tanker trucks are manufactured with features that enable the safe transport of hazardous cargo. Features that make road tankers safe to operate often involve the use of advanced technology. Below are a few of these safety features.

Tankers are designed with manlids located on the top of the tank. These lids can be fitted with a device to detect if the vehicle has rolled over. If the vehicle does roll, the device will initiate the manlid to automatically seal the aperture. Manlids also contain a fire-engulfment vent that allows pressure to release very quickly before it reseals again. In the event of a fire, this vent allows the fire to burn but prevents an explosion from occurring.

Tanker trucks can also be outfitted with an electronic stability control system. This system can detect a potential loss of control and automatically apply the brakes to slow the vehicle's speed and help the driver to regain control.
