New INFRA Rebuilding America Grant Program Takes Form

Based in New Jersey and with facilities spanning several states, Linden Bulk Transportation offers solutions that meet the carrier needs of companies in the bulk liquid product, chemical, and petroleum spheres. Linden Bulk Transportation stays at the forefront of trends within a tank trucking industry that is making rapid gains in the safety and efficiency arenas.

One key concern within the industry is an aging infrastructure, which is threatening bridges and roads along vital transportation lines. A discretionary grant program recently launched by the The Department of Transportation (DOT), Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) seeks to combine direct federal funding for urgent projects with increased overall investment by local, state, and private entities.

Through public-private investment partnerships and other innovative project delivery processes, long term improvements can begin to move forward. Under recently released DOT notice of funding opportunity guidelines, large projects must be $25 million or larger to qualify for grants. Approximately 10 percent of INFRA funds are set aside for small projects of at least $5 million in scope, and a minimum of 25 percent of the funds must be directed toward rural areas of the country.
